THE FOUNDERS
Max and Phil — the heart and the brains behind Your Showdown — are connected by more than a long-standing friendship. Much more. Both are convinced that playing games together is a real superpower. Why? So their circle of friends wouldn’t drift apart after graduation, they started organizing private gaming events with mini-games.
And it worked. The concept became so popular it turned into an annual tradition. But in the founders' minds, the idea kept growing. “What works so well in our friend group could be just as exciting for companies, sports clubs, or kids’ birthday parties. Really, it’s for everyone,” explains Phil Dieckmann.
In December 2022, everything suddenly moved quickly: the idea was refined, enhanced, and turned into a solid business plan. And just six months later, Your Showdown opened its doors in Munich. Since then, people have been experiencing what Max and Phil always believed: It’s incredible how much playing together brings people closer.
And it worked. The concept became so popular it turned into an annual tradition. We do not yet know the exact number of children who will be coming along – can we still book?
Wenn ihr noch nicht genau wisst, mit wie vielen Kindern ihr kommen werdet, dann bucht einfach die Mindestanzahl an Kindern. Wenn dann doch mehr Kinder mitkommen sollten, passen wir die Rechnung vor Ort an.
Is there a minimum age for children?
Yes. Our games are designed so that children aged 8 and above can play them easily.
What does a typical children's birthday party at Your Showdown look like?
The children can arrive at their leisure and make themselves comfortable in our lounge. They are then divided into teams of 2–4 and, with the help of a game master, dive right into the fun. Approximately 8 games are played before the award ceremony.
Can we bring our own birthday cake and presents for the birthday boy or girl?
It is best to eat the cake beforehand, as we unfortunately do not have the necessary space for it on site. If you have a few snacks such as muffins that do not require plates, etc., please feel free to bring them along. You are welcome to bring gifts for the birthday child.
Do supervisors have to pay extra?
Supervisors are very welcome to accompany the children to the showdown. If they would like to play spontaneously, they pay €25 per person afterwards.
